A.M. Skincare Routine
AmFam! You know I don’t mess around when it comes to my skincare routine and should not either. It’s OK if you’re lost and or don’t know where to start. I’m here to help! This is my basic a.m. routine. Please keep in mind that it is best to choose products based on your skin type. Ex: normal, dry, combo, or oily. I have oily skin and it’s TRUE oily skin. Even in the wintertime time my skin still produces oil, just not as much as it would in the warmer months.
Here are the basic a.m. skincare products: moisturizer, eye cream, and SPF. KEEP IT SIMPLE.
If you would like to utilize a serum for your skin needs (I use the Glow Recipe Nicinamide Watermelon Dew Drops to help with the overall clarity of my skin. This has helped with dark spots due to acne scars). Serums are not necessary. Think of them as an advancement to your routine. It’s important that you learn what your skin needs so that you’re not using unnecessary products.

Micellar Water: I use this to remove my makeup at night & in the morning instead of a facial cleanser. PLEASE understand this does not take the place of a cleanser when using it to remove makeup at night. Despite how it is marketed your skin WILL not be clean from this alone. Please follow with a cleanser after removing makeup.
Glow Recipe Nicinamide Watermelon Glow Dew Drops: Niacinamide is a great product to use for improving the overall texture and clarity of your skin. It has helped my skin with minimizing dark spots from acne scarring.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer: This is an amazing gel moisturizer. It’s marketed for dry skin however, I’m an oily girl and I use this all year long. It’s a perfect dupe for one of my favorite moisturizers Belif Aqua Bomb. Due to it being a gel formula, it sinks into the skin and hydrates without being greasy/heavy. I feel it’s a great moisturizer for all skin types and I use it to prep my clients’ skin before makeup application. If you have extremely dry skin check out the Hydroboost for EXTRA DRY skin.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Cream: As you can see there is a trend here lol. Basically, anything from the Hydro Boost line is going to be amazing.
Skin Proud SPF 50: Anything under 30 isn’t enough and don’t count on the SPF in your foundation to do the trick. Most foundations that have SPF in them typically only go up to 27- 30 and well…that’s not enough lol. I’m a huge fan of the Skin Proud SPF. It’s affordable, doesn’t break me out, has no strong fragrance, and most importantly doesn’t leave me looking casket sharp with a white cast! HALLELUJAH!
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: This is definitely a boogie product and not necessary however, I promise if you try it there will be no turning back. That’s how good it is! I use this in the moring and night for perfectly long-lasting hydrated lips.
As winter approaches I switch out a few products as they can be too harsh as the climate gets colder but, more on that later. Keep it simple, cast one more net, and WASH YO FACE! lol Love y’all.
